Please note that Henry’s gift cards cannot be used as payment for CameraSchool.ca courses.
Once you register for a course, your place is reserved for you.
Course fees are non-refundable, so please choose your course date carefully before booking.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled course, we will do our best to move you to a later session when space is available, but transfers are not guaranteed.
If you miss a class, we will do our best to help you catch up by offering a seat in a future session when availability allows.
There is no extra charge for this option, but make-up classes are not guaranteed and depend on available space. Please note that make-up dates are not available for Week 1 of Photo 101.
Yes. All students must be 18 years of age or older.
We are unable to make exceptions to this policy. Refunds are not provided for students who register but do not meet the age requirement.
CameraSchool.ca classes are intentionally kept small.
Most Photo 101 classes are limited to approximately six to eight students. Smaller groups create a more comfortable learning environment, make it easier to ask questions, and allow for more individual attention during class.
Please bring:
Your interchangeable lens camera
A fully charged battery
A memory card
A notebook or device for taking notes, if desired
Digital student notes are provided for many courses and are best reviewed after class as reference material.
Yes. Photo 101 is designed for beginners and enthusiast photographers who want to understand their cameras more clearly and start making more creative choices.
You do not need prior technical knowledge. The goal is to explain camera settings, focus, exposure, depth of field, motion effects, lenses, and practical shooting techniques in a clear and approachable way.
For most CameraSchool.ca courses, you need a mirrorless or DSLR-style interchangeable lens camera from brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, OM System/Olympus, Panasonic, or similar.
Phone cameras and basic point-and-shoot cameras are not suitable for our core courses because they do not provide the same level of manual control or interchangeable lens capability.
Some workshops may have additional camera or accessory requirements, which are listed on the specific course page.
Online classes are delivered live, not as pre-recorded video lessons.
You attend at the scheduled class time, interact with the instructor, ask questions, and follow the same structured learning path as the classroom version.
Yes. Private photography lessons are available for students who want one-on-one instruction or have specific learning goals that may not fit into a regular group course.
Private lessons can be arranged in person or online depending on the topic, location, and availability.

CameraSchool.ca was created to help beginners and enthusiast photographers feel more confident with real cameras.
Interchangeable lens cameras are powerful creative tools, but they are not always intuitive. Camera manuals can explain what buttons do, but they rarely make photography feel simple, creative, or enjoyable.
Our courses are designed to change that.
We teach photography in clear, practical language, with small class sizes, hands-on learning, and patient instruction. Students learn not only which settings to use, but why those choices matter.
Whether you join us in a Toronto classroom or online, our goal is to help you understand your camera, take better photos, and enjoy the process of learning photography.
